WoodNet Responsibilities for Chain of Custody Certificate

  • Verify eligibility of businesses to participate in WoodNet Market Council certification programs.
  • Assist in the preparation of documented control system and procedures.
  • Collect and maintain client records.
  • Perform annual internal audit to ensure continued compliance with relevant certification policies and standards.
  • Serve as liaison between Bureau Veritas for logo approval and/or during annual evaluation and surveillance audits.
  • Issue Corrective Action Requests when necessary and/or facilitate corrective action process with Bureau Veritas.

Responsibilities of the Site Manager of the participating business

  • Meet with the WNMC Administrator and/or FSC Auditors annually to ensure continued compliance with the documented policies and procedures of the applicable certification standard.
  • Provide a copy of company Chain of Custody procedures in digital or written format.
  • Implement and maintain Chain of Custody control procedures for tracking and handling certified wood.
  • Provide the WNMC Administrator with Project Data Sheets and other records that document inflows and outflows of certified materials.
  • Submit all logo use to WNMC Administrator for approval prior to release of material.
  • Respond to Corrective Action Request (CAR) if issued by the WNMC Administrator or Bureau Veritas, by correcting the deficiency within the designated timeframe.
  • Report to WNMC Administrator any potential changes to company eligibility to participate in WNMC certification programs.
